Castrol's website now recommends Edge 0-30 for the Puma.

My Owner's Manual just says: SAE 5W-30 ..... No additional specs or brands mentioned .... ... just a general remark that LR "recommends" Castrol .... Best Regards,

Yes, but usually a higher HTHS goes along with higher kinematic viscosity. So in this way you can step on the excesive wear zone for an engine designed to run with low visc oils. Solution: use a "true" synth Group V oil. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

just normal edge as opposed to turbo diesel edge. It doesn't mention engine size but I guess that covers both engines because until recently it advised Magnatec and then changed presumably because of the 2.2 DPF requiring a higher grade oil. I would therefore conclude that as edge is superior (and dearer) than Magnatec its OK for both. But I will continue to use Magnatec as I bought gallons of it dirt cheap (and so did some of the other guys I think when Halfords were giving it away recently |
