This could save people a few quid..... Try put a reason on why you won't put it on again!

Bush cables Confused

I fitted them to my red 90 and as soon as I drove through some trees, the cables didn't lift the branch up, it just lifted the wing up...I had fitted them with big washers underneath. Ok to fit to a big burly bull bar......which I wouldn't fit either!

I agree I think they are pointless unless you use them to hang your towel on in the bush.

Most of the modifications I made to my old 200tdi 90!

I learnt a lot from that one, but mainly that "modification" may not be they way forward. I try now to improve.

The worst idea... probably the worst was the full width intercooler and removal of the VC fan in favour of a Kenlowe. Perfect for the UK but not great for the Moroccan desert it was being prep'd for. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Bigger wheel arches, destroyed the look of my defender. Sad
Cheers

The fact they're not road-legal in the UK would stop me fitting them in the first place. Whistle

Kenlowe's are, IMHO, a total con.
They're easier to fit than a VC fan, lighter, and cheaper. So why don't LR fit them as standard?
I guess the inconsistent and erratic cooling they provide might be the answer.
The idea that they increase HP and reduce fuel consumption was also challenged a few years ago, and upheld, hence their adverts no longer mention percentage improvement in performance.

The exact approach I am taking with my 110.

Genunie accessories or high quality replacements/additions with are required. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Oh and Clarion head units......complete shonk.
Bought one as an "upgrade" as it promised full iPod connectivity and Bluetooth phone connection.
The iPod controls only went in one direction so if you were searching for an artist and scrolled too far (using the world's slowest scroll facility too), it meant starting all over again choosing from "artist/album/song/playlist" and it always disaplyed the contents from A with no reverse scrollling. ABBA got a lot of air time, ZZ Top less so.
The phone controls were in the same league and made phone calls sound like I was calling from the far side of the galaxy.
And the radio was beyond shoite. I could've been parked next to the Crystal Palace Tower and it still would've struggled.
And throughout all this Clarion themselves claimed it was due to anything but their cheap crappy utterly miserable Chinese radio........
"It's your aerial sir"
"It's the same aerial I used before and the previous radio worked fine"
"It's your power supply sir"
"It's the same power I used before and the previous radio worked fine"
"It's your location sir"
"It's the same location I used before and the previous radio worked fine"
"It's the radio stations you're trying to tune to sir"
"It's the same radio stations I used before and the previous radio worked fine"
"It's the colour of your eyes sir....."
"It's the same eyes I used before and the previous radio worked fine"
"Under pants then"
"Not wearing any"
"Day of the week?"
"Nope"
"Errr.....star sign.....what star sign are you?"

Roof mounted lights.... (4 along the top of my rollcage)

Worst thing ever, they lasted about a mile before I went back home and removed them.

Great for getting a nice view of my bonnet, naff for looking "forward".

Maybe camel type ones fitted higher up on a roofrack are OK, but fitting square ones that hang down under the front hoop.... nah!

It was especially worse as I'm quite tall, so I ended up with zero visibility as I was looking into the bottoms of the lights.

Standard alloys and tyres that came with it - really wish I had chosen black Wolfs with Discoverers from new Sad Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
