Those log burners made out of old gas cylinders are not bad.

As said the gas bottle log burners are good and almost free to run. A few bits of wood and possibly a small amount of coal and they generate quite a lot of heat.

The diesel or kerosine ones are good but can get a
bit wiffy in a small place. The gas ones are good but can get expensive to run of used a lot.

make friends with your local trucking firm for a limitless supply of used engine oil and get an oil burner.
