I’d only ever fit superpro now, vastly better than OEM and will last longer.

Good thing I asked.
![]() ![]() I was worried of the comments about poly bushes wearing on the arms but guess it's a risk I need to take then. Thanks for the replies! |

what replacements did you use? I'm replacing the front ones (panhard and front radius arms) and I've a shopping cart ready for genuine LR ones. I understand quality has decreased, but 2 years? ![]() Also, anyone knows how can I check the compatibility of polybush when the add states "9A7689367 ONWARDS" ? What chassis or year is this? That would be 2009MY vehicles with the last 6 digits showing as the chassis number onwards.
At this time the A frame bushes changed to ANR4164 which use a metric bolt. LR Workshop New parts illustrations https://www.lrworkshop.com/diagrams/land-r...ed-corners Find a Defender's history and spec: https://defender.lrworkshop.com |

Thanks!
![]() I was confused because my chassis is 8AA793*** and that 9A7689367 wasn't making much sense. Your year code is "AA" - indicating a 2010 model year.
This is AFTER the "9A7689367". You want the "9A7689367 onwards" version. You need to read the final 8 characters of the VIN. ![]() ![]() |

So, I listened to the advice and went for the SuperPro kit. I am now in the middle of the process to change them. So far rear lower link is done and hoping to do the radius arms today.
One question though, the rear upper link on my 2007 Puma seem to have imperial nuts and bolts. Can anyone confirm the sizes of those? Seem to be 1 1/16 and 1 1/8. Is it a necessity to get the right size tools or is there a way around that. In Sweden we have had the metric system since 1888 so finding these sockets is a challenge. I'm thinking a high quality adjustable wrench could work, but it's almost 200Nm IIRC so I am worried that I would just mess things up. |

I'm a bit of sad puppy today. Spent 4 hours last night to replace the bushes on the left radius arm. I thought that since having access to a full heavy duty vehicle workshop with presses up to 150 ton, this would be a straight forward affair. But just like with the rear trailing arms I spent toooo much time fiddling with the press, trying to find the perfect punch for the job but in the end failing. In the end there wasn't one among the 40+ punches that fit onto the outer ring. Instead I pressed out the rubber and sawed through the outer ring. It was then a simple matter, using a screwdriver, to remove the ring!
In conclusion, and as have been said by others before, if fitting ploy bushes, you don't need a press even if you have genuine bushes today. For me, access to a press has really slowed me down. Just drill or saw the rubber out, split the ring to release the pressure and then take out the ring. I'm also a bit sad since the access to the radius arms bolts on the right hand side is not great so I don't look forward to the next session. |

I've never bothered trying to press out rubber bushes with such thin metal selves, I usually just burn the rubber part out to save time and faffing.
