That's a nice interior. We went for Hunersdorff canisters with tap. Usually we carry a 10 litre but I've made the box/holder so that a 22l also fits (2nd picture). For us a pump and sink is unnecessary.
We've never had condensation there, even when it was dripping from the ceiling ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

20L with tap from Front Runner, haven’t decided where to site it yet but will be inside and as close to the floor as possible to keep the weight low down.

I have a front runner one on rear passenger arch external, filled internally with external tap through rear x member. You could draw from it internally with whale submerged hand pump. Cheers

We only get condensation on bare metal surfaces and windows. I guess this is partly because they're getting a few degrees cooler that the interior and partly because of their smooth surfaces where water drops form easier than on rough surfaces. Those canisters are not as smooth as a glass or PET bottle.
Carpets and roof lining can also get humid but you'll only notice when you touch them. Also our curtains help to buffer some of the night's humidity (they're about the only cotton fabric we have (fire protected)). |

I also installed the 22L canister. I installed the BOXIO portable sink, too, i.e. another 5L for dish washing https://boxio.fr/en/products/evier-portable ... After all, almost 30L for cooking, washing, ... In Africa, I add 2...4x 5L canisters of pure drinking water (on the roof) I've been thinking about the Frontrunner 40L in the rear wheelbase. As for now, cleaning my canisters is straight forward - but Frontrunner would be better if I needed more empty space inside |

This is a Freelander:
In outback Australia we can only last as long as our water. That is the first thing to run out. Carry 2 x 10L, 8 x 5L plus quite a few small bottles. We have it as central & as low as possible. Sometimes we buy an additional couple of 10L disposable packs. We each can last on 2.5L per day. We lined the car everywhere with acoustic foam. The added benefit is it stopped all the condensation, as we mostly sleep in the car which generates a lot of moisture simply from breathing. Also cover all the windows with windscreen sunscreens cut to fit every window. That stopped pretty much most of the window condensation. Double thickness on windscreen. ![]() Click image to enlarge Ceiling with 25mm minimum to 45mm acoustic foam & polyester batts, they are thin. ![]() ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge Visitor - Freelander owner |

I use the LifeSaver 20L jerry can.
https://iconlifesaver.com Expensive but really useful. It has a pump and tap built in and the filter means you can fill it up anywhere, dodgy fuel station tap, river, lake, etc. I use this for drinking and cooking. I also have two 10L bladder tanks that I can use when I know water will be scarce, these pack up really small when not full. https://seatosummit.co.uk/products/waterce...5090396434 |

That is excellent - notwithstanding the cost - a really good product 👍

Another vote for the Lifesaver jerrycan. Great bit of kit and the filter lasts for ages, had mine for over 6 years now. Fits perfectly on the rear wing.

We have a safari equip 60ltr tank outside under the left side of the wagon with a small pump to a tap on the back door.
We use the vehicle all year and all over Europe and the UK. in the last 4 yrs we have only had the water freeze once that stoped us using it, but we carry 3x 1.5 ltr water bottles in the vehicle during the winter for emergency use in this situation. previously we had 15 ltr container in one of the units but it was not enough for more than a couple of days and had to be refilled frequently hope that helps ![]() https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530-135.html Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 ![]() |
