After market Side Carrier box
I've been choppin'n'changin things around on the exterior rear.

I have a Genuine ladder, currently mounted on the left (N/S) ... LR states it can be mounted on either side.
I have an aftermarket Side Carrier box ... LR states this can ONLY be mounted on the right (O/S)

Further I have the Molle plates for both sides.

Now I have fitted the RH Molle plate and modified the ladder to fit over it. (just drill two new holes for upper mounting)

Now by luck I got hold of a Molle plate LH Version 3, which has pre-drilled holes to mount the Side Carrier box. But this is removable as it covers the whole of the Molle plate.

In addition I removed the LR oval badge from the Side Carrier box and replaced it with the insert of an aftermarket DEFENDER logo, from a rear wheel cover.

Looks very different Very Happy

Very cool. I like that Defender logo. I didn't scroll far enough and thought that looked very familiar. I have the same logo on my aftermarket tire cover! Good use of it on the box.
My aftermarket box came with a little logo that was a caricature of a Defender. It was pretty cool, but fell off pretty quick. I hoped on Aliexpress and got three different versions of the factory logo as replacements. Kind of a pita to find the correct size since it's a touch smaller. Ended up with the right one though.

I like those molle plates as well. Very useful and rugged looking. Nice job.

I've found your old post via searching, for the side mounted gear carrier, do you think this could be fitted on either side without modifying?

I did wonder if LR don't want it fitting near to cyclists if this is deeper than the ladders are?

I won't need the ladders, and a having a side box on either side would be useful for our wetsuits to drip out of if it'c possible to have two??

if it does have to do with cyclists, LR does not give a ship about the cyclist in countries with LHD vehicles - the mounting options are exactly the same.
And I don't understand why either...

It’s delivery van wing mirrors I worry about when cycling, not Defender ear mufflers. I can vouch for the pain and damage wing mirrors can do! Twisted Evil Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

I understand the reason why you moved the box on the molle plate. However I found it being a very expensive solution.
Also I found that the side ladder is kind of not great to use. I have mine at the back.
