Might be a failed CHT Sensor, they aren’t expensive but worth changing and I think it might be the likely cause of the issue.
There is no guarantee it is, but that’s my thoughts. TheThunderRolls🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Does everything else work ok - RPM, warning lights?

Another thing worth checking is the cluster electrical connector to the rear is secure as well, but I think CHT is more likely, but no guarantee it is. TheThunderRolls🇬🇧🇺🇸

Mine did that a little while ago - but it also wouldn't start either. Turned out to be a relay under drivers seat. Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Thank you for all the replies.
Yes everything worked as normal bar the hand brake light as well. Well a nice surprise is that it sorted itself out after a couple of days. The dial went back to the bottom to its normal position. It now works as expected, coming up to temp as normal. Doesn't exceed the halfway point. Hand brake light still not working though! Got to love Defenders. |
