Hi all,
I am after some inspiration, as I have hit a brick wall mentally with my S2 rebuild, and I am honestly considering selling it up. Life has gotten in the way and Ive not done much with it in the last few years. So I am looking for some motivation and inspiration to get my lazy carcass back out to the garage and continue the build.
It is an early 1959 S2 109 truck cab. When I got it, it was in a very sorry state, but at least it was whole, unlike now!! The chassis was shot (Previous owner had replaced the entire rear section with 2 C channel beams) The original 2 litre engine was gone and the engine that was in, was seized. The bulkhead was toast. The rest of the truck was original.
I have sourced most of the bits for the rebuild. I had an old 1967 military chassis with axles, so I decided to use that as a base to rebuild on, the plan was to purchase a proper 1959 galv chassis, but before that, I needed to work out exactly what I am missing.
So, I now have a painted military chassis, axles, and engine/gearbox (The engine is a 2.25 military engine, rebuilt by Turners) etc all installed. I have a brand new cloth covered wiring loom for the truck. The fuel tank is original, has been cleaned up and painted and sealed. Thats as far as I have gotten and I am running out of steam. I have a proper 1959 bulkhead with a coat of primer, ready to be lifted on. I have new doors, new front panel.
Life became complicated, and I am struggling to find the time to work on the truck. So I am borderline if I will sell it as it is, or push on. I dont want to sell, but I have to be realistic, If I have not completed the truck in the last 10 years, will I ever.
So any word of encouragement or something to get me motivated again?
Cheers
