More MOT prep. Had advisory about split boots on TRE’s and drag link; also some worrying clunks were developing so I went the whole hog with Gwyn Lewis Sumo Bars, Disco drop arm, Delphi greaseable ball joints, SuperPro bush kit and OME steering damper. Probably a bit of overkill as, though rusty, the originals weren’t in that bad nick for 120,000 miles. My new ‘lectric impact driver made short work of dismantling and the drop arm puller worked a treat (even though it was a Brtitpart one (from Gwen Lewis…))

The rest of the bushes can wait till summer, but I did the Panhard rod. I pressed out the originals and then fitted superpro; they were a tight fit and I used the press again to apply a bit of light pressure.

I set all the tracking up following the installation instructions but made to rookie mistake of not fitting the Panhard rod first (as there was more room without it). The axle must have moved slightly with the steering as it was a Censored to fit with the Sumo bars installed and I then had to redo the tracking Censored

Only a few more jobs now and it will be back on the road 2012 110 XS SW Orkney Grey

I had my eye on those for ages, but just couldn't justify the price. But I had to buy myself something 'nice' after so many repairs having piled up recently...

Tell you what, on mounting I noticed that my shifter appears to have given way and now sports a nice crack down the middle... so the next thing might just have come up Big Cry
