l've not heard or read anything to this effect.
But to be on the safe side just do what he said. My D250 uses so little Adblue that l will probably only have to fill it twice in five years of use. Currently l am on 11,700 miles and it's still saying there's 6,000 miles before it needs refilling. |

I bought my 8 month old 130 with 9650 miles on the clock and it says it’ll take 2 gallons (9lts) so I wonder if it was ever filled up.

With Wifey's Velar i wait until the Remote app says that it needs 11 litres. I then buy a 10 litre bottle from Halfords or Amazon (depends which is cheaper at the time) and put it straight in.
No need to measure, use the lot. On her previous D Sport with the service package Adblue top ups were free, however it was a pain because it was time out of our day plus a half hour wait for something that i can do on my driveway in five minutes. They did say at the time that their fancy machine measures the exact amount and stops over filling, but if you do what i do its no issue. If i remember correctly they were charging £36 at the time outside of a service contract. Add in your personal time and it just makes sense to do it yourself. |

Check the capacity! If its more than say 12l…
Then wait for the first warning, put 10l in, simples Just remember it takes up to 40 miles or so for it to register and the warning to go! |

I have indeed refilled my own ad blue on my FFRR on many occasions, but I’ve always filled it to the top without incident. The question I was asking was is anyone aware of overfilling causing a problem on the defender L663? I use a pump to fill my ad blue tank and it’s an easy job to find a container and measure out the literage I need less 1L. I wanted to know if anyone else had been told the same. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

Will any Adblue be okay or is there a specific one that we are supposed to use?

Any Adblue is fine.
In 26000 miles I've added 10 litres, although I think LR added some when it was serviced. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

It’s been a while since I filled up the ol’ adblue.. forgot how fricken stupidly small and horizontal the filler point is.. rigid funnels just stick out horizontally, flexing funnels are too big. Do I need to park on a 45deg hill or is there an attachment somewhere I’ve forgotten!?

On a 10l bottle of AdBlue, on the reverse behind the sticky label is the screw on filler tube.

My add blue level on the pivi pro screen range reduces down to 9,800km and then goes back up to 13,800km and then over a 2-hour drives goes back down. I have completed 10,000km since the dealer filled the ad blue and it keeps cycling up and down. Can I reset the level with GAP tool?

Your dealer is correct Be careful of ‘brimming’ the adblue tank, as they use an ultrasonic sensor. If there is not an airspace in the top of the tank, it will read empty and you will get the following Overfilling the AdBlue tank can cause permanent NOx faults and 'No engine start in x miles' and/or 'AdBlue tank needs to be drained' warnings. I know because last year I have overfilled at a pay as you go pump, I knew about this fault but never experienced it, but as I had paid a tenner I though ah just fill her up WRONG. I got the dreaded you have only 500 miles before the engine will not start, I know this is on a LR4 but I would imagine it is the same………………cheers Ivan 2016 Discovery 4 1989 90 CSW V8 (fully rebuilt and running like a dream) 1996 defender tray back fully rebuilt/loaded for challenge events |

Well I am pretty sure my dealer overfilled mine. Interesting the GAP tool shows I ned to add 5.0 litres, and the level is 13.2l yet the pivi pro screen shows I have a range of 15,200km and no Add blue is needed. Does anybody know how to sync the Pivi pro? I have rebooted the pivi pro.
