200tdi Timing Belt Running Off
I would like some advice regarding my timing belt running off. The belt seems to be running at a angle across the tensioner and rubbing on the retaining lip on the back of the tensioner pulley and starting to shred the belt.
A Dayco OEM belt kit along with a 2nd hand timing case was fitted 500 miles ago. (200tdi Discovery engine)
Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas on how to remedy the situation?

Why the new timing case?

Did it do it before the new case?

There was an issue with sme tgv/300tdi with rear case.bending and belts running off, a support bracket was added back of fip.

Fit a shouldered pulley see if that helps.
Something is distorted so it's not running true, put a flat edge on it all?

Or a pulley is not fitted square. Cheers

Short version of a long story, I put it in a garage for a cambelt and it came back with diesel leaking into the timing case. We have ended up trying to put their work right. Had the pump fixed, went to change the timing belt and the thread for the idler pulled out of the timing case. Replaced the case with one from Turners. I will have to presume the original belt was OK.
I can't see how the crank or cam gear can be incorrect. The injection pump has a gasket and the rear bracket, I also can't see how these can be fitted incorrectly.
Could the case actually still be warped in some way?
The cam gear, crank gear and pump gear seem to be inlline but I will double check. BORG - Bucks & Oxon 4x4 Response Group
