Having never paid more than £200 for any of my landrovers in 40 years and never made a claim, you can understand my shock when I got a quote this year for £1400 😮 was reduced to £480 and Iv just today been given a refund of £200 taking my policy back to £280. CAR-AZY.

Wow. You’re paying £280 a year to insure a new model defender? That’s very cheap MY23 D250 Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE, Carpathian Grey, 7 Seat, Electric Towbar

Not sure about “coming down” as this is the first one I’ve insured but it certainly pays to use a comparison site.

We had our Tiguan and California on an LV multicar at 600 for both, was pretty happy with that down from 1000 the previous year.

Sold the former to replace with a new 110 on March 1 and just had a quote of 1700 from LV.

Used Meercat and got down to 810 with all the bits. Could have gone down to 710 with no extras.

Admiral was the winner for us, but of course all driver and location dependent.

The Adrian Flux comment was salesman twaddle. There are not “loads of Defenders” in containers.

Sadly gone are the days when you could visit your broker and discuss the quote, now it's all down to what the computer says.

The lowest quote l ever had for any of our old Defenders was around £300. Mostly it was £400+

There was always a background of people on the forums who got insurance for £150 or less, but l could never get near it.
