Ohhh that sounds painful 🤣..

You would struggle to buy a smaller wheel than the smallest one pictured above i suspect, and can't say as I've noticed any discomfort or obstruction..😁..it doesn't really require much more effort.. has a real firm feel
It wouldn't be my only wheel but sometimes when I swap over it's on for weeks without me giving it a thought..👍

Thanks for all your thoughts fellas, really helpful!

Ianh - Nakatanenga Leather LR centre https://www.nakatanenga.de/en/raid-leather...D-HKL-TGGM - This is quite a cool little detail! Also thinking that I could just add a Momo sticker over the Optimill cap, got one off eBay for a few quid to stick on to my sons pedal tractor a few years ago. LOL.

DSC-off - This is brilliant, thank you for sharing that! My standard wheel is 55mm from the stalks so this will actually be closer. Really good to know!

Chicken Drumstick - You mention that your boss is thicker, which one are you using and what's the distance please? As mentioned above the slimline quick release Optimill leaves wheel 45mm from stalks, my standard wheel is 55mm from stalks. Would be interesting to know where you are sitting? I have already got this wheel - https://momo.com/en-gb/product/street-eu/s...k-edition/ - On eBay too cheap to be true but I am very happy with the quality of it, packing is pretty good too. Can't go wrong for £50!

Finally got around to counting the splines, ended my procrastination and went with a MOMO one so that I can keep the branded center cap.

I might upgrade to the quick release in the future but that'll do me for now. Pics to follow when fitted to record the new distance from stalks and my thoughts on the new position.
