Latest test as you described: https://youtube.com/shorts/erfu-yqPLgQ?feature=shared
I’m not sure how freely it should spin but I don’t hear a lot of noise from it. Clearly some rubbing but nothing rattling etc. apologies there’s obvs some noise from me pushing the wheel. Really appreciate your help here! |

I’ll try the ball joints and saw elsewhere that someone had an issue with loose shock turrets… so when i jack it up again I’ll do both. Thanks

I had a similar noise coming from the front of my Honda CRV, it proved to be a pebble wedged between the brake shield and the disc and was grating on the disc…..just a thought. 2012 90SW - 2.2TDCI

Thanks - I’ll add that to the checklist… so far:
1. Check shock turrets are secure 2. Check steering ball joint movement with steering wheel wiggling 3. Check for anything trapped behind brake shield I was out this evening and now have knocking in the driver’s footwell to add to the list. Had it for a little while but it’s got much more pronounced. Not obviously correlated with steering or bumps in the road. Has happened both when steering round a corner, reversing down a hill and when coming off the accelerator on flat. Not at the same time as the rumbling/grinding from the front right… |
