Thanks Clayton

That Triumph looks like it would be a lot of fun to drive!

It does as the owner has fitted twin exhaust pipes, one each side and the smell when started up takes you back to the good old days Very Happy Clayton.

I was tempted by a 405 MI16 that appeared on one of the specialist sites a while back. I was actually relieved when it sold as I really don’t need another car. Unless of course a decent 1.9 205 turns up! WARNING.

I was up near Helmsley yesterday. Some sort of Ford Escort day trip. Many, may from Mk1 up dressed up with rally decals. Shame about some of the over-extended wheel arches and bizarrely low rear suspension but great to see them all.

I had forgotten all about the CJ!

This is just my opinion, but I always feel some cars look better than others as a cabriolet. Although the 205 was an amazing car, I am afraid I don't think the rag top suited it.

That's just my opinion. I always thought the Escort looked good as a convertible and the Golf was iconic in that design. I'm not sure why? Maybe it was just the shape of the hardtop and how the rag top emulated it?

Just like an Evoque. A good looking motor just not as a convertible Thumbs Up

Well there I was sitting in traffic today in Gateshead and I saw what looked like a very nice MKIII Escort in my mirror but as it passed me on the inside I realised it was actually a pickup!

Apologies for the poor quality screen grab from my dashcam

It's actually a Ford Bantam or “Bakkie” It was first registered in the UK on 1st January 2019 but they were originally available from 1983-1990 in South Africa, they are based on the MkIII Escort. It was in great condition. Thumbs Up

Now here is a very rare SVO LR built vehicle, I'm told they built 16 of these to be sent to 'wild life centres in the USA.

This one has found it's way home (to the UK) It has a private plate currently

I thought it was one of those 'Safari' vehicles they built in South Africa using Knock Down Kits, but no they were actually built by Special Vehicles in the UK.

Anyone know any more about them ???
