Has anyone tried one of these of have experience of a reliable hard wired rear camera with a screen that goes over the top or replaces the interior mirror?

I was given the Wolfbox g900 for my Puma from the family for Christmas.
The rear camera is great as a mirror - I hadn't realised what a whole new world I'd been missing before. With the dog guard and tinted glass I'd been relying on the door mirrors. I fitted the rear camera inside the rear door stuck to the underside of the brake light. I didn't bother hooking it up to the reverse light as I already had a Garmin rear parking camera on my satnav - plus the wolfbox field of view is pretty large and using your finger on the mirror you can scroll the mirror view up and down to see further down (does that make sense?  )
My rear window is tinted and doesn't seem to affect the camera. I got the ODB cable with mine so it draws it's power from there. There is an inline switch to select a minimum voltage before it stops the time-lapse recording when the vehicle is parked. However I have mine set to the maximum and I think that function could be draining the battery too far. It is possible to disable this parked mode feature. One of my boys got one for his Golf and that instead has the wiring to the fuse box with a couple of piggyback connectors. His doesn't have this issue. It also comes with a gps antenna on a stupidly long cable - I've left mine in the box. I guess if you wanted the full dash cam features to record exact time and location of an incident it should be fitted. The front camera is 4k btw and is fantastic - you swipe left or right to switch between rear/front/combined views. I've not experienced any trouble with mirror blocking the sun visors other that the mrs ramming the thing out the way without notice to get the visor down 
It hooks onto the existing mirror so you can still swivel it about. In summary I'm enjoying mine as a rear view mirror. I've not bothered with any of the dash cam stuff yet due to time. I need to investigate the ODB lead to see if the minimum power selector is set correctly before I try Parked mode again. Oh and it's pretty big and initially I thought it would obscure too much of the windscreen but it seems fine. The instructions are rubbish also and translation to English is awful in places - from the ads I'd thought it was from the US but it's probably Chinese. Cheers, Andy... I noticed on YouTube grizzlyandbear use the dash mount for their's which leaves a great view out the windscreen -

They’re supposed to have a voltage sensor which cuts off to stop battery drain. Neither of mine have drained the battery as of yet but I haven’t played with the settings for the time lapse lot yet.
I removed my standard mirror all together and mounted the new one on a suction cup job from Amazon. https://amzn.eu/d/83E9h1N I fitted it as high up the screen as possible. That put the mirror much higher. The aim was to avoid the sun visors but it only improved range of movement slightly. I’ll try and get some pictures as and when I can. |

Glad this thread got started. I have the LR single din Sat Nav unit as I am not a fan of the double din but it doesn't support a rear camera. So I was planning to order a 10" Wolfbox and make whatever mods are needed to fit it to the standard mirror leg and hide the cables as best as I can but try and make the end result as slick as possible. I will also mod the visors and have them re trimmed. Will post my progress.

i think 10" is sounding better option over the 12 with visors etc. Cheers

Here we go. I’ve fixed the camera to the bottom of the brake light on the inside of the rear door. So the view is essentially of what you would see out the back.

I’ve got an aftermarket brake light but the principle of the placement is the same as if I had a factory light.

I put it on the dash, just above the center screw by the windscreen, I haven’t stuck it down yet as I wanted to try it there for a bit to make sure it works correctly.
It’s barely visible from my driving position. The other place I was going to put it was stuck to the windscreen behind the mirror so it wasn’t visible to the driver. |

I have gone for the 10" jansite one, £59. Not 4k but only want rear view which most seemed to be lower res rear anyway. Looking to fit to the 130 this am. Camera looks same as one shown above.
