Isn't it the Merc G6 that is the main competition to the Octa ?

The XM was BMW's attempt to siphon sales from the AMG G-wagons believe it or not.
An effort that, at least over here, has failed dramatically. Not sure if the Octa directly compares to it but that was BMW's intent. The transitory principle: XM Competes with AMG G-Wagon. Octa Competes with AMG G-Wagon - therefore competes with XM. I've only had two coffee's this morning so I may be mistaken  2022 Defender 110 SE P400 Tasman Blue Expedition and Cold weather package

I would agree, for a few months if you get an allocation you may do ok. Supply & demand...
Once the you tubers the footballers and their wife's have had it and move on to the next 'thing' the loses will be huge... As for it competing against the G class... in price maybe but not sure on quality of fit and finish or even brand 'snobbery' (is that a thing?)... Its an odd one at the price point as inside its not too dissimilar to a £58K base van model. |

I was told March and last week my dealer sent over an updated copy of my order status, still no production dates on it. They said they are now being told "May, maybe sooner."

As of two weeks ago, I received an updated order form that had a January 10 build date (new) and March 14 (the original) delivery date. D90X 2023.5

Checked with my dealer Dec 5. Build date holding at Jan 10; delivery Mar 14. Starting to worry about Trump tariffs and USA longshoremen’s action (postponed for Biden until Jan). D90X 2023.5
