New TD5 Defender Owner (But not new to LR!)
Hi All,
Me and my 13yr old son are first time defender owners Thumbs Up having owned a V8 Rangerover classic for 10yrs I am fairly experienced in LR ownership (well certainly with rust remedy! Rolling with laughter)

Our new truck is an outwardly fairly tatty 2003 TD5 County Stationwagon 2 owners from new and barely run in at 110k. It’s solid and has lots of history and we love it! Looking forward to getting some great advice and sharing some of our experiences with it, we are already experiencing our first issue, which I will post in the TD5 section but wanted to say hello and thanks for having us!!

Thanks I hope so, I seriously think my son would sleep in it every day if he could! Rolling with laughter aiming for him to learn to drive in it in a few years, my dad always said if you can drive a landy you can drive anything! Thumbs Up

welcome there pal, great to see your son taking a liking to it too Thumbs Up
These id say are the last of the best motors to learn on mechanical side i would say. All the modern crap is too computerized. So get him involved as much as you can Thumbs Up
Closest thing me and my dad did as a father and son project was rebuild a rover metro, back in the late 00s to the early 2010s. We did welding, rewiring, engine conversion. So basically anything the defenders threw at us practically, we can do Thumbs Up A few have said a couple of jobs are a pain in the arse to do on defenders, me and my dad are like, hold our brews Laughing Two tank out jobs on defenders, TD5 an TDI and we found them a piece of cake, others have said its a pig of a job. ( we have tackled far worse Laughing Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it!
