That is the configuration I intend to use in a 110 Overland I have in build at present.

There are many variants of SD roll cage. Are your external bars as low as this SD front external cage? If so yes the roof will fit externally.

You may have to clamber around your internal cage though, and dependent upon how tight to the roof internally the rear cage is, potential exists for the internal pop top frame to be impinged by the cage. That said, its all straight forward to adapt between the 2 structures to achieve both occupant protection by the cage, and rigidity in the roof to support the pop top.

With the fold down bed in the Drivelodge can you store bedding on it when the roof is down and or when the bed is up?

I can leave a double mattress and sleeping bag in when its all fastened up / stowed. Not much more than that though. Its about the same as I could leave in my hard shell roof tent

Is the roof itself fairly stiff, could it take some cargo rails for example so a light box or solar panel could be fitted?

Not sure about cargo rails but will defo take solar panels as that is one of the options I was looking at.

To be fair one of the reasons I went with this set up was to keep weight off the roof and also lower the overall weight and centre of gravity.

Having done lots of expedition work, I don’t like having weight up high.

I love the drivelodge of yours Camel. But I always have a roof rack which doesn’t seem viable.

Yep, if you regularly carry stuff up top that could be an issue. Saying that, I dont' like carrying stuff on the roof for lots of reasons (increased height, centre of gravity, the faff of getting it up there etc etc).
If I have to carry more gear than I can fit inside, I tend to hook the penman up instead.

Is there any internal bar work to it? As "Safety Device" have said they do not do one to fit. Or do you know the part number or pics of inside? Cheers

I fitter an internal bar as well. It‘s not part of the external cage. It‘s from the cage from an 110. See pics below.

So, are the two parts joined together?
Are they meant to go together or have you have to get other brackets made to join them?

This isn't mine, its a german fellas from one of the facebook groups...

But he used a drivelodge roof, and amended an existing rollcage..

I'm looking to do similar, the only 'iffy' element is the odd kink over the rear door.. (purely from looks perspective)

TBH, I think he's absoutely nailed it! I think theres a video walk round on YT somewhere aswell that I have seen..

Yes, this are two different „cages“. However they fit together By using the original brackets.
