Really?!? Hmmm, that’d be a new one on me! Never seen one fail being completely intact and in good shape.

Mine was brand new LR one, new seals. It leaked out every 6 months, gas would only last the summer.
They may appear to be in good condition but often arnt Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

No leaks now, but could it be blocked internally?? 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

What pressures are you getting in the HP and LP lines with the compressor running and with it not running?

I don’t have those values. The compressor won’t engage… I’ll see if my guy has them recorded for not running and report back.

Ah, OK, I missed that bit in your original post.
So compressor works from Nanocom but not autonomously. Suggests that one or more of the switches involved is haywire. Let me ponder about this for a bit to see if I can come up with any ideas..... Curiously my TD5 Disco2 has been exhibiting odd A/C symptoms as well, but I am not sure how similar the two are. I have more or less understood how the Disco2 is supposed to work. |

Sounds like more of any electric issue. So its a 2000 and should therefor have the 'add on' AC module at your knees. The wiring diagram for that is easily attainable.
Unlike a really simple system there is an electronic thermostat through the controller and the engine ECU has some control over the Compressor and Fan too. Its a pretty simple system and you need to chase back the power supply check the relay functions and wire continuity. It could be the controller but most likely there is a relay or power supply fault. |

So I am able to make The AC run by bridging the relay wires with the relay removed. The wiring works as does the relay but the switches do nothing when the relay is put back in place. The blower works fine and the fan works as does the compressor when I bridge the wires. I’ve traced the wiring in the switch loom to the blower and temperature control switch and all is good.
If I can make it work by bridging the relay wires I suspect that it is not getting a signal from the engine and or trinary switch🤷♂️. Anyway anyone have any other ideas where to check? Are you still having trouble with this? I just kind of skimed over it at work but I have a cool air Logan manual somewhere that I think tells you how to connect the under dash unit bypassing the ECU control. Let me know, I installed the system in my 90 so got to know it quite well

Indeed I am still unable to make it work as it should. Any further assistance would be welcomed. Thank you. 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Firstly- I’m not an automotive electrician I’m a factory engineer so anyone feel free to jump in and help out if anything I’m saying doesn’t look right.
The fact that you’re able to trigger the compressor via nanocom obviously means everything from the ecu output is healthy so either - ECU conditions for compressor to kick in aren’t being met Or -the compressor request signal from the underdash unit is not reaching the ECU Firstly I would check voltage to connector c0658 pin 23 on the ecu with the air con switch in position 4 (max cold) and position zero. With the engine and blower running (purple wire with black line in middle on picture) if you see voltage go on/off then your dash unit is sending the run request to the ECU. Feel free to PM me and when I’m free I can do some testing on mine if needed. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
