I remember now how I used not a breaker but a ratchet (Britool) with a box spanner jammed on the handle and a socket and extension on the other end of the box spanner giving about 20” of leverage. I would avoid dismantling anything unnecessarily- you just open up another avenue of grief with something else to break

Can you remove the handbrake housing without taking the propshaft off?

With plenty of time, its not a bad thing to take bits apart to make sure they are serviceable, accepting the likely failure of parts, exactly as you mention.

But it sounds like the OP does not have that benefit really, so i would, very much, endorse what you are saying!

Taking the prop off and the hand brake / back plate off are 1 spanner difficulty jobs that will let the OP get his breaker bar in.
It sounds like he won't get the filler plug out otherwise.
If he really can't do that then the only other thing to try is a long wobble bar extension to get the breaker back past the handbrake drum.

Never had an access issue from underneath.
Can't remember if I use a short 1/2" extension with a "wobble" end?
Never had to take the handbrake off.

Update - the plug is out!

I had a second go with the breaker bar to see if it would fit. With a lot of wiggling and gently persuasion, it slotted in and with the added leverage over the ratchet, it cracked loose.

I measures the breaker swivel and it’s 5.5cm.

Will order a new plug. This ones chewed up (it was prior to my ownership).

Now, if anyone has any smart ways to access the top bolt on the clutch slave cylinder…?

I also have a normal master cylinder to replace my current, as well as a LOF master cylinder. Would you think 1000 miles into a new clutch is too early to fit the LOF?

The best way to change the clutch master is to remove the clutch pedal box from the bulkhead.
