Question for the more knowledgeable then me gurus. I'm fitting a 5G/Wifi/GNSS antenna the one in the link
https://ie.rs-online.com/web/p/multi-band-antennas/2766675 Is it overkill, yes, is it free, yes My question for the GNSS to work correctly does it have to have direct sight above it. I was planning on fitting it slightly under the roof tent, would the GNSS work correctly or would i have to install it further to the front of the roof Click image to enlarge |

Thanks for the detailed reply Peter,
I'll tell you my plan, I managed to get a sim router from work so my kids will have Wi-Fi in the defender and then i need a GPS antenna for my head unit so i can use apple carplay. Thinking using this antenna would tick off all my requirements |

I'm using GPS on our Discovery 2 during trips, and had antenna on the roof - just behind the windshield edge partly covered by roof tent. It was working, but not good. I've moved it in the hood, nex to some solar panel, and it is perfect.
With TD5 Defender I had placed the GPS antena bellow plastic cover on one of fender top holes. It is hiden and works nice. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

I have not used any bracket, just the original plastic cover. It has some ribs from lower side, so removed part of the rib, made some holes to the rest and used zip ties to hold the GPS antenna. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo
