D250 - Seems noiser after wading

I went through around 30" of water yesterday, well within the vehicles capability, and did so at no more than 5mph.

Since then it's got a noticable noise coming from the engine bay, almost like diesel knock - but doesn't seem to increase or change with engine revs.

Everything is working as it should, no odd feelings or vibrations, no warning lights etc... it's just a bit noisier than it was.

I have a feeling it's done this before after wading and it seemed to go away of it's own accord.

Any thoughts?

How far have you driven since going through the deep water?

Probably 10 miles or so, mixed driving.

Did you stop and rev the engine when you came out of the water to clear the exhaust?
