Air suspension hiss after sitting

New to the forums, also new to owning a defender.

But does anybody elses defender make a hissing sound when it's been sitting for a while, and you open the door; like it's being inflated. It's definitely either coming from the compressor or strut. I wasn't sure if this is normal or if there's a small leak.

Yes it's normal, I can't explain but mine is doing this for 3.5 years. No Mud flaps for my 90.!

Is it not the vehicle lowering to access height? My wife’s Velar does it as well.

When the car wakes up, it will self level and get to access height if not already there, ensuring the easiest possible access. This can be cancelled by having a trailer connected or with the previous EAS you could put the car into tight tolerance mode to allow accurate wheel alignment to be done.

Do the suspension a favour and lower to access height as you drive up to your parking spot. It unloads the suspension arms and ensures the bushings aren't being twisted like if you dropped into access height after hitting the park brake. Increases bushing longevity.
