We must condone “vile hatred and intolerance”, it seems to go with the territory of social media these days, but 100,000 people seem upset enough to vent at the loss of their beloved emblem and an advertising campaign that is something similar to a late 1990's Pet Shop Boys video, without the keyboards and hats I am no fan of Elon, but he tweeted, or should that be X'ed, “Do you sell cars?” |

Me neither. I only read that on a website. I don’t do X or Twitter or Facebook or whatever but it does seem that these companies do listen to views on social media rather than angry people writing letters. You can be sure their company account will be monitored and where would you send a letter of complaint ? JLR, Complaints Department, Coventry UK.
I don’t have that passionate love of any brand some people do. Land Rover don’t produce anything now I would want to buy. I can’t imagine spending £100k on a car that in all probability will be worth £25-30k in 3-5 years. If your house lost that much money you would rent. But then I guess that is what everyone is doing now with PCP’s |

The new marketing campaign and rebrand is thoroughly embarrassing and looks like a big mistake but even worse are all the internet people and so called celebrities moaning about it when they have never actually owned a Jag, most likely never even considered buying one, and clearly don’t give a monkeys about the company or it’s British workforce. Nigel Farage openly wishing the company goes out of business was absolutely disgusting.
I thought some of the old campaigns were very good but it didn’t stop the slump in sales because overall the cars weren’t as good as the German offerings. Marketing can only take you so far. It’s very simple, if the new cars are good people will buy them. If not, they won’t. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. Last edited by Zed on 25th Nov 2024 8:51pm. Edited 3 times in total |

The advert is beyond me and I’m obviously not their intended market.
Very clever though, who was talking about or really interested in JaGuAr before this, Everyone is interested in what’s next now. |

I agree that any news is good news, well unless your name was Gerald Ratner where the attention he got brought his business to its knees. Still, don’t think he was short of a few Bob.
I guess what we expect are cars designed in wind tunnels with very little individual style that will have every conceivable driver aid and comfort, can only achieve the advertised range with all the mirrors removed and panel gaps gaffer taped together in a wind tunnel at a constant speed and which will not be as good as an Aston Martin. Let us all hope it can’t make a farting noise when you sit in it, Elon? I expect Jag will sell lots of these motors, or at least loan a few of them out on PCP’s and they will be very successful. I know a few people who run Jags and I doubt any of them will be darkening the dealers showroom to be purchasing any of their new models anytime soon. But then I can’t see anyone in that advert who I would know. |

I think they narrowed down their market so far they left themselves with no market share. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Would but an XK8, beautiful car. Won't do much for Jaguar's survival, but then Land Rover is not particularly benefitting from my land rover addiction either, never has. Bought a new Toyota once, not really worth it for me.

In the future if you visit a Jaguar dealership, take a seat and the 'sales man' offers to push your stool in, get up and leave........

The way the automotive industry has gone in the last few months there, I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a U turn on EVs been made, and diesel models make a return. If that happens that's Jag out. Nissan didn't sell that many Leafs when they made those at the nissan plant, and i am not too sure if they are going to do EV versions of the Juke and Quashi.
I am sure Ford have pulled a few EV plans a couple of months ago, and i think VW or renault might have done the same thing. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
