So, it’s ’Exuberant Modernism’ now instead, I guess.

Well to be honest it would not be right and proper to put an iconic Jag emblem on an EV.
It would be like putting a diamond tiara on a pig. |

Bud Lite, Tractor Supply, Boots. This type of marketing and 'alignment' didn’t go well for any of them.

I don't get why brands ignore their heritage?
Just only have to look at VW to see how well they manage their brands. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

Because businesses have found out that you can make more money with disposable "fast fashion" than durable goods. Governments have been fanning on the flames by constantly changing the requirements.
The modern buyer is not interested in heritage, they want the next thing |

I would love a proper Jaguar as an EV. Sleek lines, a bit of spirit, a bit of that good to be bad, a bit of heritage, and a nice drive. As an EV the delivery could be super smooth, fast, quiet and full 'tank' every morning. What's not to like. |

And yet the new Mini was for long a major success story. Renault is bringing their Renault 5 EV which everyone is raving about. Citroen actually has gone back to their older logo. Porsche still retains their design language. VW brought out their ID.Buzz. Fundamentally people want good products that do the job and appeal to them. I'm not sure Jaguar's products have recently been very interesting. But I am convinced that the right mix of a good product and a bit of heritage can generate a winner. |

It's still called JAGUAR though They could at least have tried to bring that icon into their understanding of what's modern. I've had DALLE have a go (carful, may need to wash your eyes after looking at it ): Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

I am pretty sure VW do a decent job of ignoring a very particular bit of their heritage 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Can you imagine the meetings over this.....
They need to look at a brand like Rolex. And, so yes, you cannot walk into a store and buy a men's Rolex. You have to give your details to be on a fake waiting list that can be up to 6 years wait. I can't see Rolex changing their logo anytime soon. "Bow to the crown" |

When thinking about current brands that actually hark back to their heritage regularly, the only one I can think of is Ford with their GT. It doesn’t seem to be the “done thing” anymore. My take is that 95% of people buy a car as a form of transport, some just spend more than others. While many people have an interest in what they drive, very few are enthusiasts and so couldn’t care about a marque’s history. It’s not worth the effort for a manufacturer’s marketing team to try and appeal to a very small fan base; they don’t care . . . I wonder if Gerry has been involved in this?

Its like saying that if you don't look like one of those on that ridicules comedy sketch then you are not wanted as a jaguar owner.
Anyone worth their salt will not want to be connected to a brand that resembles, well, lord know what. I guess that they think that the CEO's of the future will al be drag queens. Probably want caused the passing of John Prescott...... I shudder to thinks what Gerry the Fairy Godmother will do for the next Defender update.... |
