Any recommendations for a 1/4 or 1/2 rear chassis for my Defender? I've just had the tank out as the fuel pump was shot to find both chassis rails in shall I say, poor condition! Looks as if it's just the rear rails after the springs that are gone. Ebay is a wash with chassis parts so I was wondering if anyone can recommend one that won't have to be mod'd to get it to fit! As above. Just change the whole thing if you’re looking for a half chassis. Chances are as you start stripping it back you’ll need more than a 1/2. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

I would agree with them, when I did mine the disassembly uncovered more issues hiding. A half chassis almost sounds like a cut and shut! 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

if you are going to do a chassis swop, for god sake make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing and can do it to a proper standard. My dad got charged 30k, for a rebuild, well the thread speaks for itself.

Hi, Procta, I’m sorry to hear of all the issues your Dad has had. If I can avoid giving work to any trade that I could possibly do myself, then I will. Granted a chassis swap is a big, big project that you need time and the space to do it in. Mike

we normally do most of our stuff our selves, due to the fact you cannot guarantee the work others do.
