Nanacom question for TD5 2001 90

Hi, I have a TD5 90 2001 with a 10P engine. The ECM is a non-programmable MSB variant.

I own a Nanacom diag system and want to know if I can read the crank position with it?

I’ve not been able to find anything in the Nanocom system to let me do this. I’m currently having an issue with starting the truck and want to eliminate the crank/fly wheel sensor. There is nothing in the fault codes for any issue with it but if I disconnect the sensor I still don't get a code error.

Can it be read with the setup I have?

Hi, if the CPS is an issue, one usually gets a "crank noisy " fault message on nanocom.
Try cleaning the CPS and move the CPS wire as far away from the starter motor as possible. Sometimes the signal is corrupted by the starter electrics.

While you're at it, clean AFM,MAP, IAT sensors as well, not that it will solve the problem but it's good to start with a clean slate.

Nanocom can display engine speed (rpm) which is generated by the crank sensor. If the crank sensor is your cause of non-start (quite a likely scenario tbh) you will see the rpm stay at 0 or jumping all over place while cranking

If you want to test the CPS you can test it by measuring the Ohm between the connectors directly on the sensor, and it should read around 1.2 Ohm.
