Gearbox Issues on 23MY V8 110 Carpathian
Dear all

I’m wondering whether this is worth worrying about amd whether anyone else has had the same issue.

My 110 V8 has 27k miles on it and I only bought it 1,000 miles ago. For sure it did hard motorway driving in the U.K. as I’ve already changed the Brake discs and pads as there was a wobble at high speed braking.

The vehicle has new tyres all round and drives well now with the new brakes but has one issue.

When driving around 70mph and kicking down anything but very gently, and sometimes even then, the gearbox knocks/clunks into a lower gear. I’m not sure if it’s when changing down 8 to 7 or 8 to 6 but it’s a hard thud/clunk that’s worse the warmer the ZF gearbox is.

The rest of the time it’s very smooth. I’ve tried in comfort, eco amd dynamic and the same issue b8t only when there is a proper kick down on the throttle.

I wanted to ask here before approaching the dealer as I know their first reaction will be to say it’s normal and/or can’t check at that speed etc.

If it’s a known issue and others have had this, or know what to do, please advise as I’d like this resolved while I’ve got 9 months warranty left.

Car is stock mechanically but has the quicksilver exhaust (which is awesome by the way). Issue was there before that.

Thanks

Paul

Warped brake discs are common, it doesn't mean it's been driven hard. Mine warped and l've only ever driven "normally"

Before you do anything else, get the transmission oil level checked. l was told by an independent LR specialist that they are sometimes delivered with a slightly low oil level. And you can try resetting the gearbox parameters.

Look it up. After that if you're still not happy then maybe see if you can get a test drive in another V8 to see what that is like.

My 23.5 V8 90 doesn't do as you describe, it's very smooth at motorway speeds including when changing down at power for any reason. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey
