Defender 90 TD5 front door card
Hi All,
I’ve just purchased some door fixings to fit the door card, can anyone identify where this part fits?
I can’t see what the spigot and cover does?
Thanks

Hi

There are two per each front door.

One goes into the top corner nearest the hinge and the other in the bottom corner diagonally from the first.

The clear ( sometimes white plastic ) is tapped into the door, and the black part goes through the door trim when in place and the shaft tapped until flush.

Hope that helps

Hi Markb
Am I correct in thinking the spigot is cut off once tapped home?
The photo is what was in before

You are correct, and what was in before is incorrect for OE fitment but if it works 🤷‍♂️

You don’t need to cut anything off - just tap in flush

The transparent part fits in the metal door skin, the plastic piece fits through the door card, and the plastic pin is tapped flush.

After lot od broken plastic clips on door cards I have switched to rivnuts in doors and strainless screws with some nice heads. It really holds the doorcards to doors. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Just be careful the SS doesn’t seize there with the Rivnut, so a little anti seize is ideal. Thumbs Up ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️
