Firstly, is it definitely a model with ABS? Nor all Pumas have it. If it is, the best course of action is to use an OBD code reader that can read codes I the ABS module. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Thanks =] Yes, I borrowed from a friend the OBD code reader and scanned the car.. appeared all these errors (sorry, it is portuguese). The car has the system but with this lot of errors, the lights on the dashboard should be on, right? |

Yes. At least ABS light should come up.
But are you sure that your truck has it installed ? I believe TC was only available with the BOSCH ABS in the 2.2 TDCI ABS was not a standard feature. It is not installed on mine. I don't have an ABS control light. And no error codes. In my opinion you're having some "modifications" |

Surely a peek under the bonnet and or a glance at one of the front hubs at full lock should indicate if ABS is fitted?
What makes you think ABS is fitted and also what do you mean with the brake warning light is on, is it always on, like in low fluid level on? |

If ABS fault codes were read, at least the ECU would have been from a Puma with ABS.
But the posted fault codes are rubbish since the first letter is missing. P0306 = cylinder #6 misfire detected How does it come to this code ? |

I guess it's the low liquid level you've already mentionned.
The WABCO ABS is proprietary fault coding - not integrated in CAN-BUS standardized coding. A dedicated reader should be used e.g. Nanocom. Many threads exist on faulty WABCO ABS that ceases functions : e.g. 3 amigos 2 amigos here in this forum https://www.defender2.net/forum/post847243.html His truck from 2007 may be one of the first ROW Pumas. I wonder if it has a catalysator and EGR |

I have a feeling early Pumas only had ABS if they were XS models, they also had or likely had AirCon too, but later 2.2’s were more likely to have ABS and TC.
I mention aircon because XS models have it. I’m glad mine doesn’t have ABS etc and TC and so on, they commonly go wrong. The brake light will come on per permanently if the brake fluid is low, but if not it might show up then extinguish after starting. Any ABS or TC lights, should extinguish after starting, possibly illumination if active then off again. So if you were driving along and the TC activates, then I believe it may come on while active. Mine doesn’t show any ABS or TC lights on the dash, and doesn’t have it fitted. So if there is those lights on the dash, then if they don’t extinguish after starting, then there is a fault. |

Hello Everyone!!
Thanks for all the information.. Yesterday I spent all my day trying to figure out what is happening.. Here are some things that I found: - My car has the ABS system and WABCO ECU. (All pieces have the sticker 2007, which is the same year of the car) - I took off the cluster and found some cables with electrical tape, so I think this is an old problem. - There is missing more 2 lights: Seat bealt and Engine. - I checked all the fuses, and are all good. So I think I will have big problems to solve... |

Wabco/siemens is correct upto 2010my. It then was a bosch unit.
Does the TC/abs actually work? Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop Last edited by jst on 3rd Nov 2024 10:03pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Do you have the "2 amigos" or the "3 amigos" in your WABCO system ?
Do a forum search or follow the link I've posted ... |

If you're sure that the ABS doesn't work (and no Amigo), you will have 3 différent ways to proceed :
1) return the truck to the seller 2) get the right fault codes and repair 3) remove ABS/TC from your truck and make your truck conform to Defenders without these features |
