Also, don't forget the weights of the different models. A P300 is about 65kg lighter than a P400 and about 200kg lighter than a D250. That extra weight costs fuel to accelerate and can numb the handling feeling too.

I didn’t know we also have handling feeling with ours Defender!
It doesn’t really inspire confidence driving winding roads…
It does well for a massive barge.
This is another reason why I find the diesel being the perfect match to the nature of the Defender. Or the V8 for their “waft” along nature. And of course the V8 just for the burble at idle and push it hard and to me sounds like the Angel calling for the Armageddon.

I think, regardless of the engine, the Defender handles windy roads pretty well considering what it actually is. In NZ we may or may not have gone 'a few' km/h over the speed limit in a rental 130 up the Remarkables
