Heater trap - Have you checked yours?
Today while trying to stop a rattle in the lower dash (unsuccessfully) I undid a small panel at the bottom of dash in the drivers footwell and found what I can only describe as a heater trap. It was absolutely packed full of shredded leaves. I stuck the hoover in and extracted the best part of a shoebox full! Is it a heater trap? It looked like a small cabin filter belonged there but the Land Rover designers ran out of budget or simply forgot to put one in. WARNING.

I didn’t take any but on a RHD car it’s to the left of the clutch pedal on top of the tunnel/bottom back of the dash. WARNING.

Are you sure you haven't had a mouse nesting in your dash?

I did think that but could find any signs of one. Quite possible I suppose. WARNING.

If you get a moment would you mind checking yours? If it’s clean we can deduce Mickey and his pals took up residence! I can’t imagine they would have lived that long though, it gets blisteringly hot and would be incredibly windy! WARNING.

Hard for me to see what part you're reffering to.

The blue arrow is just the air outlet, but you'll see that without removing a panel.

(picture is from a LDH but flipped)

Hi

I'm overseas at the moment so can't physically check mine. How is it held on Zed? screws or clips?
