2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Corris Grey
Headliner load limits
Apologies if the answer is out there, but I've tried various searches and I can't find it if it is.

I'm looking to carry a fishing rod bag in my 110 (TDCI). Total weight will be c. 5-10kg and length around 6-7 feet. I don't have a roof rack and would like to mount the bag down the centre of the headliner from the rear door over the centre of the middle head rests to keep it up and out of the way (we don't use the centre seats).

Would a couple of quick fist clamps attached to the headliner with self-tapping screws comfortably carry this weight without sagging?

Thanks.

should be a hollow central rib down the length of the underside of the roof panel - screw through the headliner into the rib - or use one of the various hollow fixings; whatever - it needs to be secure in the event of an accident or you could end up with a 20lb javelin.
