D250 - Occasional hesitation under partial load
I've noticed a few times now that our D250 hesitates/stutters when driving under partial throttle, (example being cruising on an A road).

The symptom is a very brief flatspot/stutter/hesitation that probably lasts no more than a second.

Over the last couple of months I've noticed it 9 or 10 times now.

Reminds me of a fuel pump issue I had on a VW LT van.

No codes as yet...

Anyone else had similar?

l've read a couple of similar issues on forums, but nobody came back and explained what the fault turned out to be.

Keep an eye out for P006B or P0401 codes.

I had this and it was the exhaust manifold pressure sensor blocked up. Occasional but very minor hesitation, often when pulling away from a junction or roundabout etc.

Have had the same on my MY24 D250 a few times now with a slight stutter/bump on light throttle and ~1500rpm.
Not noticed any other particular conditions and only seems to have been on the most recent tank of fuel so potentially related - need to get a code reader to see if anything flagged but no warning lights etc

Have experienced similar recently on my D300 but just thought it was me

Next time it happens I will note what speed / conditions at the time Tony

MY24 - 110 D300 HSE in Tasman Blue with White Contrast Roof. Air Suspension, Off-Road Pack, Towing Pack, Three-zone Climate Control, HUD, Cold Climate Pack, Classic Mud-Flaps, Fixed Side Steps, Wheel Arch Protection, Rear Recovery Eyes. Plus a few extras to keep the Cocker Spaniel safe & happy.

I’ve noticed something very similar on my D300 but it’s impossible to predict and so slight it feels like you have had a strong gust of wind hit you?

Only got 4500 miles on the clock but 3000 were covered on a recent Pyrenees trip and I noticed it more when on a motorway when I lifted off and then reapplied the throttle.

Will keep an eye on it but might chat with my dealer Thumbs Up Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

What fuel do you use?

If not premium fuel might be worth trying a tankful or two of Shell V Power or BP ultimate to see if there’s any difference or improvement over time. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey

I've not had this issue on my 2022 D250. l've never used premium fuel in it.

Currently on 16,000 miles.

Fuel will make no difference.

Plug it in to a proper LR-compatible scanner and see if there are any codes. The engine management light will only come on after a certain number of fault cycles so the codes might well be there even if it’s not done so yet.

It sounds just like the start of the fault I had with my D250. Eventually brought on EGR codes.

Could be the injector plug, supposedly it’s quite a common problem.
