CheckTemp II Sensors
Guys

Anyone found an innovative mounting for either the internal or external CheckTemp II sensors?

I have read alantd's and dgardel's excellent reports. Thumbs Up Thanks guys. Also AndrewS and Cobs's routing of the sensors (I'll probably use AndrewS's internal recommendations),

was thinking of routing the external sensor into the chassis somewhere (maybe in the plastic cover under teh battery?), and the internal one into a door pillar.

At the moment my CheckTemp is installed & working in every way except the 2 sensors...Just wondered if anyone had any new thoughts or experiences?

I ended up moving my external sensor as it was being affected by engine bay temperatures (it was in the inner wing) now relocated to just behind the headlight - seems fine so far.

The internal one'sat the back of the cubby box at the moment - I think from memory that dgardel has his on the dash which might be a better position

It will partly depend where you have put the display. I put my in the "pen tray" in the centre of the dash.

Internal sensor went on the blank centre switch low on the dash, but not ideal as heat coming from the low down outlets causes it to read high.

External sensor went between inner wheel arch and the front of the wing on nearside (IIRC similar to dgardel's). Seems pretty accurate as does not seem to get engine or exhaust heat and is out of the wind. Wire was taken through bulkhead when running wiring for supplementary switches etc. 2010 110 Utility Station Wagon

Thanks - I put my sensor in the "usual" place...but a bit higher than on alantd's piccie:

I like the idea of putting the sensor on one of the blank switches in the dash.

I'll have a look at these sites, when the weather gets a bit better...getting numb fingers in about 3 mins at the moment!
