Do you understand what the spacers do?

I am guessing the longer studs and spacers make for a longer bolt part to stretch giving you a little bit more elongation (stretch) lenght and therefor less likely for stresses to reach fatique/snap point.
On my Td5 I had two bolts that had ripped out of the head, I put in an insert but that was not very convincing. I had my exhaust manifold skimmed and refitted. So far I think there might be small leak still which I will fix with a new head one day. I am thinking removing and skimming your (seasoned) manifold is probably more effective then some fancy bolt setup. |

I’ve increased the stud size of the four outmost studs, so they are now much stronger, and all studs are Wurth items. Removed all webbing and had it skimmed. Must be 6 years ago now.

Shockingly you cant actually get the spacers any cheaper, if you want them from stainless. Unless you make them yourself
Be careful with the Wurth sets as some are legit some arnt. Some that are sold only have about 8mm thread into the head where as the proper ones have about 15mm or so. Funnily enough fitting the set from Gigglepin tomorrow as the best value for me and includes all gaskets. Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

Yes. You are potentially going to have to drill bigger for a thread insert so rather than a thread insert I just went up in stud size. Increasing slightly the holes in the manifold which are oversize anyway.

Yeah very common to drill and tap to M10 when the threads strip. Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |
