Wipac Crystal:
https://www.paddockspares.com/pm678-wipac-...ralia.html With H4 performance bulbs like Philips or Nightbreakers. If you feel like going the whole hog, an upgrade loom for the headlights. I’m not sure what if any off the shelf options are available for this now, I have a Land Reiziger one. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

It would pay you to fit stainless bezels and fixings while you are at it, and then you’ll be able to almost fit and forget and corrosion will be very little issue. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Thanks I'm leaning more to the crystal ones atm. I'm liking the black powder coated ones |

I fitted the clear ‘crystal’ ones to mine and found them to be fine. A slightly updated look and brighter, I’ve not done the loom yet, I did use relays for another old car to stop the light switch burning out and give higher voltage to the lights, so this is on the list for the 110.

If you are likely to go out at night in sub zero temps or get a lot of snow, then you are probably best off going for Crystals.
I like LED’s I have them myself, but you really do need heated ones if snow and ice will be an issue. They do eventually produce some ambient temperature in use, but I don’t think that would achieve much in anything below minus 2.C, though rain x clears a lot I’ve never found it an issue. Choice is yours really, if I had to chose I’d stick with LED’s, but Crystals are really good, especially for value, and performance if the loom is upgraded. With loom upgrade I did once do a side by side comparison, and you could see the difference. I seem to remember a voltage increase of around 1.2v at the connector approx or around that, that’s a reduced current load anyway which is good. Philips H4 or Nightbreaker H4 are good coupled with it, sent it it to mot bay for alignment after fitting yourself and all done for you for a small fee. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
