Adblue - use by date
A Google search appears to indicate that it shouldn't be used for whatever reasons 18-24 months after manufacture or 6 months after opening.

Thing is I don't do many miles and I've now got 10L 18 months old that will probably be sat in the truck (non Defender) for at least another year if I fill it!

To be on the safe side my instinct would be not to use it, but equally getting rid seems to be challenge Question

Wisdom from the Forum would be much appreciated Thumbs Up Rob

For the cost, roughly £20 (ish) on either Halfords or Amazon then if unsure then buy new.

As for disposal, check on your local council website. They may already have something in place to help you.

Some useful info below.

At the risk of antagonizing the Safety Elfs:

Quote: "Adblue is a water-based urea solution that is used to reduce emissions from diesel engines. It is made up of 32.50% urea and 67.50% deionized water, and it is non-toxic and biodegradable."

Would that not make that a candidate for just the toilet? I mean UREA, being basically Censored anyway?

In France I find disposal of any form of special waste extremely hard. I save up my oils and then have to pay a garage to dispose of it - and I admit that I will sneak in the occasional jug of coolant in the hope they have disposal facilities for that.

In the land of bland cars working on your own car if frowned upon and actively discouraged.

I recall when I lived in Norway, where the disposal facilities we excellent, the Political Green Brigade proposed to forbid the sale of engine oil and stop the collection, until it became clear people would just buy their oil in Sweden and then probably dump their old oil in a bush. Also garages were notoriously expensive and overbooked so basically that idea was dropped.

Thin it out & put it on the lawn. Another option involves sulfuric acid. Visitor - Freelander owner
