2.4 Puma losing prime
If you followed my other thread here, my shop had a hell of a time finding out why the Defender would turn over but not start. Turned out to be airlock in the fuel line. They said they "fixed it" but alas, it is a mechanic shop in the Middle East so no, still persists.

The car runs fine when driving but when I shut it off for a few hours, it takes cranking for 6 seconds to get going. If I leave it overnight, it's more like 30 seconds of cranking till she fires up. So it seems the fuel is draining back into the tank when turned off so there must be a leak between the fuel pump (remember it's a 2.4 so mechanical pump) and the tank. The car has been trouble free for 7 months and then this just started happening. Also fuel filter is on tight and rather new (50km on it). So has anyone else had this experience and where was the air ingress into the line coming from?

You may have an issue with the HPFP if a lot of air/dirt has been dragged through it.
The 2.4 is a bit of a pain if you do a simple job like a fuel filter change wrong. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

It's a city driver so never offroad. I would think an air leak would be upstream of the HPFP I just can't find where. Is there a check valve on the 2.4 so the fuel doesn't drain back?
