Sam smith Member Since: 12 Aug 2021 Location: Suffolk Posts: 65	Defender knocking noise and smoke Any help would be really appreciated. Just finished rebuilding my defender 2.4 tdci went for a drive up the road to check all ok. It was driving nicely for 10 mins then all of a sudden it starts doing this as in the video. I don’t want to run it for long and towed it home. I’ve added nanocom faults Any suggestions? Many thanks

landy andy Member Since: 15 Feb 2009 Location: Ware, Herts Posts: 5668	Any oddness to a Tdci engine I recommend swapping out the VCV, as they are delicate, not expensive and easily swapped. Mine when failed created an engine knock.
