A bit of info for you lads, i know some of you know, that where i work, we make the bits for these. Due to the seat supply issue, the seat manufacture who made the seats for these, has gone in administration. INEOS, have stopped production or orders until January. We had a meeting at work on Tuesday as these are a major customer of ours, and its had a knock on effect, We have had to have stand downs, and now people are been let go, shifts are going to change, so things are not looking square as they were. Sorry to hear that, particularly as things were going well for you after the last company. Hopefully things will work out for you. Skilled workers are hard to find. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

thanks lads, this week is all up in the air now, Things did drop off in july for INEOS, and that must have been when Recaro went into trouble. We did still did the odd order for them, which must have been to finish the cars off. Then production was paused until things were sorted out, but from what came about this week, looks like they have had to say next year now.
Which gives them time for contracts to be sorted, and a new supplier found. my old work place is down to 3 days only and day shift only, they never got the work in they hoped for. Sorry to here your predicament, Procta.
Reports this week on Volkswagen are also finding it tough. The Americans are running scared of Chinese EV's placing enormous import taxes on them and I think Canada have done similar. I really think the motor industry has in some part only got itself to blame. You reap what you sow. |

Its looking like the full works has dropped like a rock, these last few months, not just INEOS. The builds for those were still steady, and the forecast was due to increase. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Recaro has been owned by an investment company called "Raven Acquisition" since 2020.
l imagine it's one of those companies who buy up other companies and try to make money out of it, the company my wife works for was bought by an American conglomerate and they are basically not looking after it properly, managing from afar and making detrimental decisions. |

like most companies these days, the corporate world simply wants a 'fast buck' it appears so they buy a successful business, asset / profit strip it and then it fails...........
rinse and repeat with the next victim.......... |

Two very insightful posts
![]() I couldn’t have put it better myself. I used to work in the construction industry. Everything was a race to the bottom. Whilst as we type, companies (some long established) go to the wall and workers are laid off and suppliers lick their bank accounts. I believe the money is on Homebase being the next retail casualty. Owned by Hilco. I will let you do the Googling…….. |
