Well done! I could see it was going to be a ball aching job when I ordered my car so decided to let the dealership fit them. I have since noticed that one of the front fixings doesn't look quite right so your experience seems to confirm that there's a design flaw here. 23.5MY 90 V8 Carpathian grey

I have double checked the official instructions Land Rover provides.
They also suggest to remove the wheels and arch liners. Having done the job it’s probably a good idea. It will definitely give you more room to reach the bolts to tighten them.
The fixing plate coming with the flips has got 4 holes of which only 2 are used to keep the flap in place.
The confusion comes from the 3 holes in the flap and 3 bolts provided in the kit.
It’s definitely a design flaw however the instruction clearly state to use only 2 bolts.
