Wipers and screen wash not working - 2012 2.2 tdci
Wiper and screen wash not working, what’s the process of illumination please.

Checked fuse.

Could it be the stalk with melted contacts?

Could it be a relay, if so which one do I need to look at/replace?

Many thanks [/i]

The fact that neither the wipers nor the washer work is suggestive, and actually fairly unusual.

Assuming that you are referring to the front not rear wipe/wash, check Fuse 11 (15A) in the CJB (i.e., under the dash), since this powers both wipe and squirt. If this is OK, I would tend to suspect the switch or the wiring to the switch.

If you have a meter or test lamp, check for battery voltage at terminal 6 of the switch connector (WG coloured wire). If OK, operate the squirt switch and check for battery voltage on terminal 2 of the switch connector (LGB coloured wire - very PC! - the output to the washer pump). If this is OK it suggests multiple different faults which is unlikely but not impossible, so report back.

I think it most likely that you either have no power the switch, or that the switch is defective. From the symptoms you have described, unless you do have multiple faults, it won't be the wiper ECU (usually incorrectly called the wiper relay) since this has no involvement in the operation of the washer.

If you read through this thread black wolf has covered some points to check on various wiper motor functionsđź‘Ť

The fact that the screen washer doesn't work is significant in this case, usually the wipers stop but the squirt works. The fact that neither works points to a fault in something common to both, which pretty much can only be supply or switch since apart from this they are completely independent.

I have now removed the passenger headlight and cleaned out the wash wipe bottle and reconnected and the wash wipe works.

However the wipers do not work.

I think the fuse is the same for wiper and screen wash.

Could it be the connection on the stalk?
