I fear it will take many more months or even years before the underwriters start feeling happier about taking on the risk of LR products.

Still, that’s great news if thefts are reducing.

I sold my L405 AB because the insurance quotes were coming in at £3k. I did eventually find one from NFU for £2250. They are and were my current insurance company and have been for 6 years. They quoted £1297 fully comp with protected NCB. Not too bad for a London borough. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

Have the security upgrades and other improvements on L663 resulted in greatly reduced insurance quotes?

Or do insurance companies still consider theft of L663 and other Land Rover vehicles to be a major risk?

Insured my 23 plate 110 last year with admiral cost £880.
Renewed this year with Swinton £687 with a winch declared.
So I’ve tracker and ghost fitted. Don’t think the cost is over the top

I paid £800 for 110 X dyn hse. I live in a pretty bad area for Range Rover and Discovery thefts, so I was surprised at the renewal. It went up from £580 the previous year. A friend over the road who had his RR sport nicked and recovered sold it, and bought a 110 because the insurance on the sport was ridiculous. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

My neighbour has a 24 plate FFRR SV and it costs £7k to insure. My L405 went up to £3k so I bought the 130. This costs £1300 al but a pack of fags.
The proof that living in a London borough has so many drawbacks.
Shame our business isn’t transferable. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

l've just had a renewal quote from my insurance and the Defender is cheaper this year. Still not down to the £300 it was in 2022, l doubt it will ever be that low again.

But a fair bit cheaper than the £700 l paid in 2023.

Yes the "Classic" policies can be remarkably cheap.

Some time ago l had a 1987 Porsche 928 S4 (5 litre) and the insurance was £100 per year comprehensive with Agreed Value.

l sold it and bought a 1989 Ferrari Mondial T. The insurance went up £10, to £110.

Joy! My £2k insurance from last year has jumped up by 50% to £3k this year with Admiral. 2 years NCD (as they seem to now ignore my previous years NCD with company car).

Fully comp with 500 Business miles..

To be fair, the lowest quotes I'm seeing from anyone who will insure me is £4k. So £3k seems like a relative bargain..

Utterly ruinous. I did check on an X5 for comparison - even that's £2k.

Thank goodness JLR are offering owners insurance at £5k..

It seems none of the stuff JLR are implementing is working. They don't even tell you the manufacturer of the tracker so you can register it with the insurance companies. (not that it would matter I guess, but still, wtf is the point if it has 0 impact on insurance). I'll have to get rid if the same happens next year.

I'm getting quotes of approx £650 in Surrey for a one year old Defender 90 D250. 20 years NCB. Not garaged.
