Yes, you can so long as itโs fused near the Alt in-line.
Take it back to pin 30 on a typical 4 pin NO Relay, 87 out to your lights, then you can sort out the trigger. You probably know this anyway.  $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Go for 4mm2 thinwall cable for the supply and load if you can, no smaller than 2mm2, as the bigger cable youโll get less voltage drop but any bigger than 4mm2 then youโll not readily find female spades with locking pins (for the relay) any bigger than that.
