Dot 4 Class 4 vs 6 - MY2011 110 TDCI Non ABS
Arvo all.

As per the subject line, what class Dot 4 should I use in a non-ABS TDCI system? 4 or 6?

Things to know:

Model: MY2011 110 DCPU

Non ABS
Vented
Just fitted a LOP Power spec kit. (I'm re-bleeding the system)
New calipers with SS pistons
New Goodridge Braided Hoses

Live in the Alps where we can have temps as high as mid-30s and as low as -20s. Lots of hard, and often prolonged braking, during descents that can be as much as 26-30km long.

I'm thinking the Class 4 with the greater viscosity aiding pressure within the system?

Of course I could be talking a load of guff. Whistle

Thoughts? Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list.....

Never heard of dot 6, I always use dot5.1 which has a higher boiling point than dot4. I still managed to boil it in the said Alps though ( in a Jeep XJ ) Not a bad place to stop and wait for your brakes to cool! I’m off to Google dot 6.

Nope, not Dot 6. Dot 4, Class 6. It's thinner, so better for ABS apparently. I had some still sealed in the barn, for my wife's TT, but I wne tand got some Dot 4, Class 4 anyway. Monsieur Le Grenadier
