Ride height
Morning all.

Quick question on ride height. I cannot for the life of me see the coloured indicators on my springs to know what stiffness I'm running. However, I assume that at the very least I would be on some sort of HD set-up, being a DCPU.

However, It looks very high, indeed too high for my liking, both front and rear. Options are clearly get some progressive springs from Alive (any feedback from those who have them, welcomed) or simply pop in some SW springs. I have non-adjustable Bilsteins on all four corners.

I have measured the height between arch and wheel, not very scientific I know, and the rear (empty tub, flatish ground) sits at 15-16cms above the tyre, and the front at 10-11cms.

What thoughts? Does this sound high? What's the general POV on whether to use SW springs or progressive springs for lower ride height and better ride?

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

Fitting SW springs won't change the ride height of an empty vehicle significantly - at least they didn't on my USW. What they will do is give you a more compliant ride at the expense of ultimate load carrying capacity. Darren

LRA, reliably quick and well informed as ever. Thank you. Does the ride height sound unusual to you? Too high? Or normal? Monsieur Le Grenadier

Thanks Andy, very useful, I'll go and measure up. Having said that, your DCPU in the photos looks very similar. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I think DCPU's always look a little high at the rear when empty, as they're just very light compared to other models.

I'm not sure about overall height measurements but here's my USW before and after a suspension refresh that included fitting SW rear springs. All other components were standard other than adding isolators, which changed the height by about 5-10mm:

Thank you LRA.

As an aside, it still amuses me seeing the front seat of a LR in the rear passenger window.

As another aside, do love your wolfs. Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier
