I'm looking for some advice/recommendations please
I have a 2011 Defender 2.4. I want to have the chassis replaced with a galvanised one and then some work done on the engine to fix any of the (usual) small oil leaks and add in some soundproofing behind the dash and bonnet at the same time. Any personal recommendations? I've tried Mills 4x4 and they don't do chassis replacement work. |

You could try Williams Classics, they will do the job but might be a bit pricey.

Depends where you are but I'd recommend these guys. They do all sorts of LR work and seen them do a chassis swap on Discos as well as lots of work on my 90.

I’m a bit late to the party but you could try Apollo Automotive near Derwen. They do chassis swaps. Again have a look at their website and social media and see what you think:

Hi Alun - did you get the new chassis? I'm now looking and would be good to know how you got on.

Hi, I didn't in the end. Because of the space that it takes to have a vehicle AND a chassis in the shop at the same time, its a very small group of garages that can manage it, at least that's what I found when I tried and researched.
In the end, I'm booked in to get mine "ice blasted" with the axles done separately and then painted with Kent paint. Should be done by April and I'll happily give feedback then. The whole project took on legs and I've gone for a BMW 330D engine and suspension upgrade at the same time ![]() |
