Leaking power steering from small hole on the back
Hi

I have a leak of power steering fluid on my 110 td5 from 2001.

I leaks a few drops a minute and I have traced it back to a small hole on the back of the pump housing. I have dried up the hole multiple times but it keep leaking from there, and I can’t find any other leaks.

Previously I changed the fluid and bled it via the nipple on the steering box, and it ran good for around 30 min then started whirring and foaming in the reservoir, like it is sucking air in - but could it be from this hole or a bad internal seal which leaks out of this hole???

I can see light from the other side in the hole, so is this a drain hole from the inside/other side (towards the engine)?

The side towards the engine seems dry at side/top/bottom of pump seal? πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Not that there was that many suggestions πŸ˜… But if anyone in the future runs in to a similar problem, I ended up just changing the pump with a new one and that fixed the problem πŸ‘
